Senior Electronics Assembler

MetroSpec Technology, located in Mendota Heights, has an excellent opportunity for a senior electronic assembler with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as it applies to populated SMT printed circuit board production. POSITION SUMMARY:
The senior assembler candidate must be proficient at accurately repairing/removing and replacing SMT components at efficient production speed without damaging sensitive components and boards. This position requires manual dexterity; lifting up to 25 lbs; ability to inspect through a stereo microscope for sustained periods; strong sense of responsibility for quality; and being dependable and reliable to a work schedule.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspect and rework, if necessary, boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards
• Solder components onto boards that were not mounted via the pick and place machine
• By soldering, using bare wire, join similar boards together
• Be reliable and dependable
• Able to work as an integrated team member and get along with co-workers

REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of electronic assembly experience with SMT (Surface Mount
Technology) and PTH (Plated Through Hole) soldering and repair
• Reading/understanding job packet documentation
• Hand placement and soldering in production (1-2 years)
• Basic electronic component recognition
• Understanding of IPC-610 standards
• ESD knowledge and procedures
• Good eyesight (corrective lenses OK)

OTHER EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
• IPC-610 training/certification
• Electronic component assembly – cables and harnesses
• Hot air rework station
• Pneumatic solder paste
• Simple electronic testing (DVM, etc..)
• Quality responsibility – documentation signoff and job approvals
